In their first three games this season, the running game had been relatively quiet. But, in Saturday’s 49-14 rout over Wagner College, the running game was wide-awake. With Bellamy out, both Bogan and Franklin rushed for over 100 yards, and Bogan scored a touchdown, while Franklin had two touchdowns. Davon Tucker got some action in the backfield as well, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown.
“[The running game] is one of our strongest points, no question,” head coach Tim Lester said. “Our running backs and our O-line and our tight ends have a ton of experience and are physical and play with great pad level, and I think they’re what we’re going to lean on as we continue to build Jon [Wassink].
