CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Men's Soccer Academic All-MAC team Thursday. A total of 40 student-athletes were named to the team.
Western Michigan led the team with nine student-athletes, while SIUE landed a total of eight. Anthony Bowie of Western Michigan was the only All-MAC eligible student athlete to earn a 4.0 GPA.
All nine Broncos will now be eligible to be voted as Distinguished Scholar-Athletes by the league, an award which began in 2015. Distinguished Scholar-Athletes will be announced later this year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics.
