Wagner started with the ball and went three and out. After a bad punt, Western scored on an 11 play, 52-yard drive, capped by a two-yard pass from Jon Wassink to Keishawn Watson, giving Western a 7-0 lead.
Wagner’s following drive ended in a missed 35-yard field goal, and Western followed up with another scoring drive, this time a nine play, 80-yard drive. Wassink connected with Watson for their second touchdown, this time from three yards, giving Western a 14-0 lead.
After another three and out by Wagner, Western started at their own 35-yard line but backed up to their own 15 after two penalties.
