OMAHA, Neb. – The 11th-ranked Western Michigan hockey team settled for the season split with No. 15 Omaha, after falling 7-3 at Baxter Arena on Saturday night.
WMU took an early 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Dawson DiPietero just 4:29 into the first period. Omaha then scored four straight goals, two in the first and two in the second period, to take a 4-1 lead.
Cam Orchard netted his first collegiate goal at 8:41 in the second period to cut the lead to 4-2 but UNO responded with two more goals to push the lead to 6-3.
