KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team fell in overtime to Colorado College in an 11-goal thriller, 6-5, in front of 3,577 fans at Lawson Ice Arena on Saturday night.
Mason Bergh won a faceoff in the WMU zone back to Nick Halloran and sophomore forward fired it into the net from the right circle with 57 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Tigers the win. Halloran's goal was his third point of the night and he was named the NCHC First Star of the Game.
The Broncos (13-10-1, 8-6-0-0 NCHC) picked up goals from Neal Goff, Josh Passolt, Cam Lee, Paul Washe and Austin Rueschhoff, while Corey Schueneman had two assists.
