The Broncos fell 65-45 on the road against Appalachian State on Monday evening. The team is now 0-1 after playing in the MAC-SBC Challenge (Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference).
WMU shot just 29.3% overall and were outrebounded 42-33. Even though the Broncos fell short on rebounds, transfer student Kailey Starks had seven rebounds, leading the team.
Western dominated in the second quarter 12-7. The tables turned at the half, with the Mountaineers taking both the third and fourth quarters 23-11.
De’Ahna Richardson led the team with 11 points, playing 34 minutes. Alli Carlson led the team with four steals.
