DEKALB, Ill. – Western Michigan women's basketball suffered defeat on the road at the hands of Northern Illinois this afternoon, falling by a final score of 73-55. Today's result moves WMU to 14-10 on the season, and 8-7 against MAC opponents.
The initial 10 minutes began with the two teams trading buckets early on, with the score set at 9-8 in favor of the Broncos at the first media timeout with 4:55 remaining in the quarter. The last five minutes of the first swung in favor of NIU, who closed the quarter on an 8-0 run, making the score at the end of one 16-9 Huskies.
