Broncos Fall in OT Thriller to No. 4 Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The 16th-ranked Western Michigan hockey team fell to No. 4 Michigan, 6-5, in overtime in front of a crowd of 4,090 fans at Lawson Ice Arena that included a record student crowd of 1,732 on Saturday night.

The Broncos (5-4-0) were down 5-3 in the third period after Rutger McGroaty completed his hat trick with a power play goal at 5:06. WMU quickly responded with Dylan Wendt's second goal of the weekend just 21 seconds later.
