BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Western Michigan softball team was edged in nine innings in game three of this weekend's Mid-American Conference series against Buffalo, 4-3. The Broncos took the previous two games of the series Saturday, 2-0 and 2-1.
WMU held a 2-0 lead headed into the bottom of the seventh of Sunday's game, but a two-run home run by the Bulls' Catrell Robertson sent the game into extra innings. Both WMU and UB went down in order in the eighth before the Broncos were able to pull ahead again in the ninth. The Broncos' hit a one-out double and with two away, drove in the go-ahead run with a double to left field.
