MUNCIE, Ind. - The Western Michigan men's tennis team opened Mid-American Conference play with a 5-2 victory at Ball State Friday afternoon.
The win stands as the fourth consecutive MAC opening victory for WMU as its overall record moves to 9-7 on the season.
WMU clinched the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. After a 6-3 win from the Broncos' No. 2 doubles pair of juniors Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi, seniors Nick Schnobel and Lenhard Haupt won 6-4 at the third spot to put the Brown & Gold up 1-0.
