Broncos’ Christiansen Qualifies for NCAA Championship in regionals

Senior runner Hanne Christiansen placed sixth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday, November 11, while WMU’s team as a whole finished 16th overall in the 31-team field with a score of 456. Christiansen’s placement qualifies her for the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, November 18.

Christiansen, who won All-Region honors for her performance, joins senior Christine Frederick from The Ohio State University, sophomore Emma Benner from Purdue University, and senior Madeline Britton from Xavier University as qualifiers from the Great Lakes region.

Christiansen led the Broncos with a time of 20:48.8 in the 6,000-meter race, 14 seconds behind race winner Katherine Receveur of Indiana.
