With the win, WMU’s overall record goes to an impressive 11-4. They remain the only unbeaten team in conference play, with their 4-0 record in the MAC. On the other side of the court, EMU’s record moved to 10-10, with a 2-2 record in the MAC.
The first set was a back-and-forth affair early on. After being down 3-1, the Broncos rallied back to go on a 6-1 run to take an 7-4 lead, but the Eagles would score four of the next six points to bring WMU’s lead down to one, 9-8. After that, WMU would go on a 9-2 run, led by an ace and two kills from senior middle blocker Sydney LeMay and a block from freshman middle blocker Cassandra Smigiel.
