HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team will take part in the upcoming 56th annual Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 29 and 30. The event will be played in a showcase format at Yost Ice Arena and Munn Ice Arena.
Western Michigan will take on Michigan State on Wed., Dec. 29 and then head to battle the University of Michigan on Thursday, Dec. 30. Due to the change in format, no champion will be crowned this season. Game times are still to be determined.
WMU returns to the GLI for the first time since 2016, when it defeated MSU and Michigan Tech to claim the MacInnes Cup.
