KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team moved up one spot in the US College Hockey Online poll and remains a projected No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament in the Pairwise rankings heading into its National Collegiate Hockey Conference Quarterfinal showdown at home against Omaha.
WMU (20-9-5) stayed in the No. 8 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, as well. The Broncos have been ranked for the seventh-straight week in the Top 10 of either poll and have ranked in the last 16 polls.
Omaha's visit this weekend marks a program milestone, the first time in WMU's history it has hosted a playoff series in the NCHC.
