KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Led by 15 student-athletes who earned Scholastic All-America Awards for 2019-20 from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), the Western Michigan gymnastics team ranked fourth in the country in the WCGA's team grade-point average (GPA) rankings, released by the organization Tuesday.
WMU was the only squad in the country to have 100 percent of its student-athletes selected as Scholastic All-America recipients. To be a Scholastic All-America, a gymnast had to have a 3.5 or higher GPA. A record number of gymnasts nationally, 193 (14.23%), recorded a 4.0 GPA.
