KENT, Ohio- Senior gymnast Rachael Underwood and freshman Emily Carless were both individual event champions in Western Michigan's meet against Kent State on Friday. Underwood also had the top all-around score. As a team, the Broncos fell to the Flashes, 195.700 to 195.050.
It was Western Michigan's second best total of the season and the third time this year the Broncos scored over 195.
Underwood won the vault with a 9.825, was runner-up on the balance beam with a 9.825 and finished third on the floor exercise, recording a 9.875. Her all-around total of 39.
