Brickey to Add Size, Depth and Skill to the WMU Blue Line

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team welcomes another talented defenseman to its blue line in incoming freshman Scooter Brickey.

Brickey, a 6-foot-3 right-shot, comes to WMU after three full seasons in the United States Hockey League. The 19-year old made his USHL debut back in 2016 with the Muskegon Lumberjacks but saw his career take off after being traded to the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2016. He played in 56 games that season, splitting seven goals and 14 assists between the two teams. After tallying 17 points in the 2017-18 campaign he comes to Lawson Ice Arena on the back of his best season of junior hockey.
