Brewer reached 1,000 career points with his first basket of the night, a transition layup in the opening minutes of the contest. The Indianapolis native paced Western Michigan (6-9, 0-3 MAC) in scoring with 19 points, and narrowly missed out on a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds.
Joining Brewer in double-figures for the Broncos were , who netted 14 points off of the bench, and , who tallied 10 points. posted nine points and five rebounds, with contributing eight points and six boards.
