BREAKING: Mid-American Conference Tournament to be played without fans due to coronavirus concern

The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday evening that this year's conference tournament at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland will be played without fans.

The announcement from the conference comes just hours after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine tweeted a recommendation to not allow fans into public indoor athletic events due to coronavirus concern.

On Tuesday morning, three coronavirus cases, known as COVID-19, were confirmed in Cuyahoga County in Cleveland.

"The safety of all is our greatest concern," Mid-American Conference Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said. "Since January, I have stated that any decision would follow the advice of state governmental officials and medical professionals.
