KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan volleyball senior outside hitter Rachel Bontrager has been named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Bontrager last week helped the Broncos secured a 3-0 week with two wins over Buffalo and a win over Ball State. Earlier this week Bontrager for her efforts was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week.
The senior outside hitter led WMU with 58 kills, averaging 5.27 kills per set. Bontrager in three matches hit .326 and recorded 5.73 points per game while having 1.
