KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Rachel Bontrager, a senior outside hitter on the Western Michigan Volleyball team has been recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American by VolleyballMag.com, as announced by the publication on Wednesday.
Last week Bontrager became the sixth player in school history to earn AVCA All-American Honorable Mention honors and the first since Lise Martin back in 1987. Bontrager was also named to the AVCA Midwest All-Region team, becoming just the fourth player in school history to do so.
Bontrager became the first Bronco since 2000 to win Mid-American Conference Player of the Year after leading the MAC with 4.
