Bontrager approaches history in just second year as Bronco hitter

The Western Michigan University volleyball team has been off to a hot start, the most non-conference wins since 2011, according to wmubroncos.com, and have just started getting into the thick of conference play.

One player that has been leading the charge for the Bronco offense has been their star sophomore outside hitter, Rachel Bontrager. With 212 kills already this season, she is already 368 away from becoming the 25th player to notch 1,000 kills in Bronco history.

Bontrager says she is looking forward to getting MAC play started.

“It feels good,” she said.
