CLEVELAND – On Monday the Mid-American Conference announced its volleyball weekly awards with Western Michigan volleyball senior outside hitter Rachel Bontrager and senior libero/defensive specialist Kaley Smith earning weekly honors.
Bontrager was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week while Smith was named the MAC West Defensive Player of the Week. Both players helped Western Michigan go a perfect 2-0 on the weekend at Toledo.
Bontrager led the Broncos over the weekend with 36 kills, averaging 4.50 per set. Bontrager also recorded a .333 attack percentage, second best on WMU.
