COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan freshman defenseman Ronnie Attard and freshman goalie Brandon Bussi have both earned Bauer National Collegiate Hockey Conference weekly honors. Attard has been named Bauer NCHC Rookie of the Week, with Bussi earning Bauer NCHC Goalie of the Week honors.
Both were instrumental in WMU's sweep of St. Cloud State over the weekend, the first sweep of the Huskies in program history.
Attard had three points on the weekend in the pair of 6-2 wins. On Friday he sealed the victory over SCSU with a 200-foot empty-net goal in the third period to push the lead to 6-2.
