Around the MAC, week eight: Miami (OH) clinches MAC East while WMU controls its own destiny in the MAC West

Akron (0-10, 0-6 MAC)

Another game, another loss for the Akron Zips as they suffered a 42-14 defeat at home against Eastern Michigan back on November 12. The Zips defense gave up 252 yards on the ground and allowed six rushing touchdowns. Akron quarterback Kato Nelson had a decent day throwing for 288 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Wide receiver Jeremiah Knight averaged 20 yards per catch as he hauled in six receptions for 121 yards. However, the running game for the Zips was nonexistent as three runners totaled for 54 yards. The lone bright spot for Akron continues to be senior linebacker John Lako who ranks second in the MAC for total tackles with 116.
