WR Jackson earns game MVP award for Tops

Jackson caught five passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in the Hilltoppers’ season-opening 31-17 win against Eastern Kentucky.

The redshirt sophomore posted 104 more receiving yards than WKU’s next most productive pass-catcher, tight end Deon Yelder (four catches, 40 yards).

Jackson also fielded an EKU onside kick attempt with 5:00 left when the Colonels (0-1) were attempting to rally from a 31-17 hole.

Jackson is expected to lead a wide receiver group for WKU (1-0) that must replace Taywan Taylor and Nicholas Norris, who rank 1-2 in every major career receiving category at the school.
