This spring is Western Kentucky running back Marquez Trigg's time to shine.
The redshirt freshman out of Glasgow High School is getting extended work with the Hilltoppers being cautious with their experienced running back corps, giving the youngster a big stage to show what he can do.
"I'm taking a lot of advantage of it," Trigg said. "The coaches are telling me to keep getting better every day, just keep improving every day. Stay consistent, and don't go down. Keep going up and stay consistent."
WKU has two experienced running backs in redshirt senior Anthony "Ace" Wales and redshirt sophomore D'Andre Ferby, but the Tops are being careful with the amount of reps each receives this spring.
