WKU's Lamp selected No. 38 overall by Chargers

The former Western Kentucky offensive lineman was picked No. 38 overall Friday night by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Lamp becomes the first Hilltopper to ever be picked in the second round of the NFL Draft. He’s the highest draft pick in WKU history, replacing Joseph Jefferson, who went No. 74 overall to the Indianapolis Colts in the 2002 draft.

Lamp, 6-foot-4 and 309 pounds, is the first Topper ever to be picked by the Chargers. The organization moved this offseason to Los Angeles from San Diego.

The All-American Lamp started 51 of a possible 53 games during his WKU career, missing two last season due to a knee injury.
