Western Kentucky's Mary Joiner wrapped her first fall college season with another accolade, as the freshman was named Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week by the league office Wednesday.
Joiner, a Franklin native, won her second individual title in five tries this season Tuesday at Mercer’s Idle Hour Collegiate Championship.
Joiner fired a 6-under 66 with eight birdies in Tuesday’s final round to win the crown by three strokes with a 213 total – a new career low for 54 holes.
Her final-round 66 was the lowest individual score by a Lady Topper in several years and bested her previous low score by three strokes.
