George Fant feels like the Bowling Green community has been with him through every step of his athletic journey.
The former basketball star made his foray into football a professional reality Saturday when he signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He flies out Thursday for the team's rookie mini-camp.
"It was a great day," Fant told the Daily News. "I had the opportunity to be with a great franchise like the Seattle Seahawks, and it's a blessing to me."
Instead of pursuing numerous opportunities to play professionally overseas last year, Fant decided to use his fifth year of eligibility to play football with the Tops for the first time since eighth grade.
