Western Kentucky women’s tennis player Andreanna Christopoulou received a No. 114 singles ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday, the first ITA ranking for WKU since 2012 when doubles duo Monta Reinfelde and Madeline Phillips were ranked No. 60 in the preseason poll. It is the first time a WKU player has been ranked in the ITA’s singles category.
“Andreanna is a crafty player who fights for every point,” WKU tennis coach Jonatan Berhane stated in a news release. “I am glad to see that she is receiving national recognition from the ITA.”
Christopoulou finished the fall season with a 7-1 record in singles with wins against individuals from Ole Miss, Florida Gulf Coast, Air Force, Eastern Kentucky, Western Carolina, Belmont and Lipscomb.
