WKU women's tennis earns road win

The win over Austin Peay (2-3) marks the second time in the Jonatan Berhane era that WKU (6-2) has won four straight matches.

WKU began Friday’s match once again winning the doubles point, its sixth time this spring. At the No. 1 spot, the pair of Lisa Friess and Andreanna Christopoulou took down the Governors’ sister-duo of Lidia and Claudia Yanes Garcia, 6-3. WKU won by the same score at the No. 2 spot, as the freshman twosome of Natalia De Ugarte and Cindy Oest won their fourth-straight match.

After claiming the doubles point, senior Elpida Malamou at the top rallied after losing 7-5 in the first set to mount a 6-4, 6-0 comeback to push her singles winning streak, dating back to last year, to 20 matches.
