The Western Kentucky women's golf team is in 12th place after the first round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Sunday in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The Lady Toppers carded a 15-over 303 in the first round of the event, which includes 41 teams.
Chattanooga leads the field by seven strokes after tallying a 5-under 283. WKU leads Marshall, the only other Conference USA participant, by seven strokes.
Sophomore Georgina Blackman paced WKU with an opening-round 73 and sits just one stroke outside the top 10 on the leaderboard. Senior Ellinor Haag is tied for 25th, just one stroke behind Blackman.
