Former Western Kentucky tight end Tyler Higbee was selected Saturday by the Los Angeles Rams with the 110th overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.
Higbee is WKU's first selection in this year's draft and the program's first overall since 2014. He's the highest offensive draft pick ever for WKU and the first offensive Topper taken since fullback Jeremi Johnson in 2003.
He's also the program's third-highest selection overall in the modern draft era.
Higbee, a team captain for WKU in 2015, had to overcome questions about his health status and pending charges following an arrest earlier this month.
