LOUISVILLE, Ky. — WKU Tennis closed out the weekend with a 5-2 loss versus Louisville on its home court at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center Saturday evening.
After the Cardinals (4-0) built a 1-0 lead winning the doubles point, the Lady Toppers (1-1) evened the score with senior Elpida Malamou clinching the singles No. 1 spot over Sena Suswam 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Fellow senior Andreanna Christopoulou held her own going toe-to-toe with Aleksandra Mally, but came up short in a 7-6, 6-4 affair.
UofL would go on to win the next two matches before freshman Monica Malinen claimed her second win of the year comfortably topping Olivia Boesing 6-4, 6-3.
