Marcus Ward will spend the next few days hearing from Hall of Fame football players and Silicon Valley business leaders.
The Western Kentucky safety will attend the Campbell Trophy Summit, held Thursday through Saturday on the campus of Stanford University.
The graduate student Ward will learn the next three days about leadership from sports and business figures. The summit comes about a week before he and his teammates will begin the 2017 season Sept. 2 at home against Eastern Kentucky.
“It’s a cool event I’ve been chosen to go to,” Ward said Wednesday after practice. “I’m thankful for the coaches letting me do this at a time right now where we’re in the middle of getting ready for the first game.
