The Western Kentucky baseball team rallied with a pair of runs in the ninth inning and another in the 10th to win Sunday’s deciding game at UAB with a 6-5 victory in Birmingham, Ala.
The Hilltoppers (16-11 overall, 5-4 Conference USA) notched back-to-back conference series wins, backed by Danny Hudzina’s two-run homer in the ninth inning to send the game to extras.
After giving up three combined runs in the seventh and eighth innings, WKU trailed 5-3 heading into the final frame. Steven Kraft reached on a throwing error before Hudzina’s blast tied the game.
Hudzina finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.
