WKU pulls away after Charlotte rally

Western Kentucky has seen opponents mount rallies during its current 13-game winning streak. The Lady Toppers have answered every challenge and did so again Saturday.

Charlotte cut a 16-point WKU lead early in the third quarter to two points early in the fourth. The Lady Toppers responded by outscoring the 49ers 23-14 over the game’s final 7:44 and rolled on to a 77-66 win in E.A. Diddle Arena.

WKU (16-2 overall, 7-0 Conference USA) forced eight of Charlotte’s 17 turnovers in the fourth quarter and scored 12 points off those late miscues by the 49ers (10-8, 3-4).
