LOUISVILLE – There’s no major category where Western Kentucky returns less of its 2016 production than in receiving.
The Hilltoppers bring back players who accounted for just 21.8 percent of their 4,715 receiving yards last season. Nicholas Norris and Taywan Taylor (3,048 combined receiving yards in 2016) both graduated, leaving a huge hole on the WKU offense.
Finding players to fill that void will be a key priority when the Toppers open fall camp Monday and get the 2017 season underway.
“There’s a lot of talent there,” coach Mike Sanford said Thursday after a pep rally and daylong Louisville media tour.
