The school announced Thursday that Simcox, a sophomore kicker, had been declared immediately eligible by the NCAA after transferring this summer from Division III Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va.
Simcox, a 6-foot, 175-pound native of Abingdon, Va., was 9-of-11 from field goals and 38-of-40 on extra points last year as a freshman for Emory & Henry.
Simcox is a candidate to replace the graduated Garrett Schwettman as the Hilltoppers' starting kicker. Other players listed primarily as kickers on the WKU roster include redshirt sophomore Ryan Nuss, sophomore Josh Cole and redshirt freshman Alex Rinella.
