Mike Sanford can breathe a little easier over the next 1½ months knowing 15 of his Class of 2018 signees are already locked in.
The Hilltoppers signed 15 prospects Wednesday during the first-ever December college football signing day. WKU announced the signatures of 13 players, while another two signed but are waiting to reveal their decisions until the traditional signing day, which falls this year on Feb. 7.
The Topper coach Sanford opened his news conference Wednesday by saying he’s “a big fan” of the new early signing period.
The early signing date legislation went into effect this year, giving high school prospects a three-day window, which started Wednesday, when they can sign with a school.
