WKU guards Lamonte Bearden, Taveion Hollingsworth and Darius Thompson matched the Governors’ scoring as a team. The starting backcourt trio combined for 55 points in the Toppers’ 72-55 win at the Dunn Center.
The freshman Hollingsworth once again didn’t look like a first-year college player. He finished with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 16 points on a 6-of-7 effort in the second half.
Thompson wanted to redeem himself after he scored just four points Tuesday in a 75-72 home loss to Belmont. That marked the 6-foot-4 Murfreesboro, Tenn., native’s first time this season scoring in single digits.
