Darius Thompson says his mom will spend Western Kentucky’s entire exhibition game Tuesday against Cumberland University in the stands clapping.
“She’ll probably just be clapping the whole game for both teams,” the WKU guard Thompson said Monday. “… If I make a play she’s going to be clapping, and if they make a play she’s going to be clapping.
The elder Thompson is a longtime friend of Hilltoppers coach Rick Stansbury. The two men scheduled an exhibition game between their programs in the aftermath of Darius Thompson’s decision to transfer from Virginia to WKU for his senior year.
