The season’s final game was played Monday night, with Clemson beating Alabama 35-31 in the national title game. With that game in the books, all stats and stat leaders for the season were finalized.
WKU (11-3) came out on top of a handful of national categories, including points (637) and points per game (45.5). The Toppers finished with the most points in the nation one season after finishing second nationally in that category with 620 points.
WKU’s high-powered offense also led the nation in yards per play (7.65) while ranking fifth in yards per game (523.1).
WKU won its final eight games of the 2016 season after starting 3-3.
