Western Kentucky's women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Conference USA rival Middle Tennessee on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
WKU used a strong offensive push over the final 15 minutes as it sought an equalizer, but could not overcome a first-half goal by MTSU's Peyton DePriest in the setback.
WKU's Sarah Gorham and Chandler Backes each had a match-high three shots, and all three of Backes’ opportunities were put on goal. Megan Morris also had a pair of shots on goal for the Lady Toppers (3-8-1, 0-4-1 C-USA), who held a 17-7 advantage in shots over Middle Tennessee and an 8-3 edge in shots on goal.
