The Governors (10-9), who rank in the top 50 in the NCAA in multiple hitting categories, outhit the Toppers 16-9 and used big offense in the eighth and ninth innings to blow the game open.
Danny Hudzina went 2-for-5 with an RBI, extending his hitting streak to 25 games. He drove in Steven Kraft in the bottom of the seventh to pull the Tops within 5-2, but Austin Peay tacked on five runs in the eighth inning and six runs in the ninth.
Kaleb Duckworth finished 2-for-4. Grant Malott drove in Leiff Clarkson with a single in the bottom of the second.
