Former Kentucky linebacker Eli Brown announced via Twitter on Saturday he’ll be joining the Western Kentucky football team.
A Warren East High School graduate in 2015, Brown played two seasons for the Wildcats before announcing in February his intention to transfer. Because of NCAA transfer rules, Brown won’t be eligible to play for WKU until 2019.
The Bowling Green native recorded 38 tackles and two tackles for loss last season for Kentucky and started five games at linebacker in 2017.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Brown redshirted in 2015. He was a four-star recruit who ran for 687 yards and 11 touchdowns with 50 tackles his senior year at Warren East.
