Sullivan struck out seven hitters during her 5 2/3 innings of relief for WKU (26-6) but was shaky. She issued six walks and allowed five hits and four runs, all earned.
After Celene Funke’s first-inning, leadoff single and a Sidney Melton strikeout, Aikey issued back-to-back walks to the Cardinals’ Megan Hensley and Taylor Roby. UofL’s Caitlin Ferguson then reached on a fielder’s choice, with Funke scoring as WKU catcher Kendall Smith committed a fielding error.
