MARTIN, Tenn. - WKU opened the 2016 season with a 7-1 victory at UT Martin on Friday evening, the program’s highest scoring output in a single match since 2002 that also featured the Lady Toppers’ 500th goal in program history.
Sarah Gorham and freshman Chandler Backes each found the back of the net twice and had one assist apiece, while Caitlin Hesse, Shayna Dheel and Kaylyn Bryant all added one goal of their own. Hesse, Nahyo Jalajel and Haley Baldridge also contributed one assist apiece on the evening.
