W. Golf. Joiner Tied for Fourth After Day One at Idle Hour

MACON, Ga. — Freshman Mary Joiner is tied for fourth individually, and the WKU women’s golf team is tied for fifth as a unit after the first day of Mercer’s Idle Hour Collegiate Championship.

Joiner shot a 1-under 71 in Monday’s second round after an opening 76 earlier in the day for a two-round total of 147 at the par-72, 6,136-yard Idle Hour Country Club.

The Lady Toppers carded a two-round total of 604 (305-299) and are tied with Cincinnati for fifth in the 12-team field. Troy leads at 596.

Junior Georgina Blackman is tied for 16th with a 151 (74-77) total, and freshman Abigail Smee is tied for 35th at 154 (77-77) – the lowest 36-hole score of her career.
